Outreach Project

Our Stormz Community for Musical Arts ‘Outreach Project’ is one of our latest community initiatives, created to bring the enjoyment of live music directly to people in care homes, residential homes and care facilities throughout South Wales and the Midlands.

The project is led by Geoff Tookey supported by members of our team who have musical and performing backgrounds and share a passion for using music to bring people together.

Our visits are far more than simply putting on a show. We perform a wide selection of well-loved songs and classics from across the decades including favourites going back to the 1960s and 70s as well as country, swing, Christmas and other popular music. We can also provide specially themed performances and events throughout the year.

A big part of every visit is audience participation and interaction. We encourage residents to sing along, nominate favourite songs, share memories, have a laugh and simply enjoy being part of the occasion. Music has a wonderful ability to bring back memories and create connections and seeing an audience joining in and enjoying themselves is what makes these sessions so special.

The response from residents, staff and care facilities has been fantastic. Our Outreach sessions have become extremely popular, with performances already being booked throughout the year.

We believe music should be accessible to everyone. Through this project we hope to continue bringing live music, laughter, friendship and a little nostalgia to people who may not always have the opportunity to attend live entertainment elsewhere.
